Mid-Autumn Festival, Moon Festival, or Mooncake Festival is observed by China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, and many other countries of the Sinosphere. Today (the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar) calls for celebration of “the end of autumn harvest.” On this day, families reunite, eat mooncakes, and appreciate the full moon.
