Yesung ’25 learns about the challenges of marketing and promoting a program while spreading his passion for soccer.
Looking and finding an open pitch in Hong Kong to book was quite challenging as it required a bunch of prerequisites, but the sessions were a great experience for me. I was able to help spread awareness about the recruiting process, provide fun and practical sessions for Hong Kong-based players, and experience what it is like to coach. In addition, it was great to meet like-minded people with a passion for soccer. Another of the challenges I faced was gathering enough participants, I reached out to multiple former coaches of mine but often didn’t receive much help. The poster I had put up brought a decent amount of players but not as many as I had hoped for. I think from this camp I learned about the difficulty of marketing and promoting activities.
