Water Polo Defeats Westminster; Prepares for NEPSAC Final Four

On Saturday, the Big Green boys water polo team defeated visiting Westminster, 13-6 propelling the team into the New England Prep School Association Final Four Tournament this weekend.

Against Westminster, the Big Green opened the scoring early in the first quarter; jumping ahead to a 7-2 lead. The team extended their lead into half time by scoring an additional five goals to go lead 12-3 at the halfway mark.

In the second half of the game, the Big Green notched another goal to win the game, 13-6.

Will Hill ‘24 led the Big Green with three goals. Alessandro Turchetta ‘23, Daniel Wareham ’24 and Bendeguz Levai ‘24 each registered two goals and HD Lee ‘24, Jerry Huang ’23 and Barron Celli ’25 each notched a goal in the victory.

Kenan Cakir ‘24 and Oliver Brown ’24 each made three saves to secure the win.

With Saturday’s victory, the Big Green improve their successful season record to 12-5.

This weekend, the team will travel to Brunswick School for the NEPSAC Final Four Water Polo Championship Tournament.

On Saturday, November 12 in the opening quarterfinal round, the Big Green will face off against Choate Rosemary Hall at 1pm. This season the Big Green and the Choate Wild Boars have already faced off two times with their season record split 1-1.

The winner of the quarterfinal game will face #1 seed Brunswick School in the semifinals later on Saturday afternoon.
