Varsity volleyball players Camilla Navarro-Delavega ’20 and Daphne Gavros ’22 were named to the fall 2018 All-NEPSAC team for their impact and efforts this season. Camila Navarro ’20 was selected to the Class A All-NEPSAC team and Daphne Gavros ’22 was selected as an Honorable Mention for the Class A team.
Camilla was one of the team’s most consistent and dominant hitters this season, posting a +0.147 hitting percentage while playing outside hitter. She could beat other teams with pure strength, with finesse, and with intelligent hit placement. Her strong serves (46 aces and a 93.3% serve percentage) were another huge offensive weapon for the team this season.
Stepping into a varsity role as a ninth grader, Daphne established herself as one of the best liberos in the league with her incredible ability to dig opposing teams’ hits. Her impressively consistent serve receive (2.13 serve-receive rating) allowed the varsity volleyball team to run its preferred offense and her 47 serving aces provided a potent offensive weapon.
This season the varsity volleyball team qualified for and was selected to the NEPSAC Class A Championship Tournament as the #8 seed. The team posted an overall record of 9-10 this season. Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team on their success this fall!
