Smachlo ’16 Heads to NCAA Championship in Rookie Season

Miles Smachlo ’16 from the University of Michigan men’s swimming and diving team has qualified to compete in the NCAA Championships from March 22-25 at IUPUI Natatorium in Indianapolis.  Smachlo is one of eight individual qualifiers from the University of Michigan team to earn an invitation to the NCAA Championships.  Smachlo will compete in the 200-yard Butterfly event at the championship.

Michigan is tied with Texas for the most national championships of any school (12). The Wolverines have accumulated 64 top-10 finishes all-time at the NCAA Championships.

ESPN3.com will live stream finals sessions on Friday and Saturday.  Wednesday’s evening session, Thursday’s sessions along with the morning sessions on Friday and Saturday will be streamed live on www.ncaa.com  and www.indianasportscorp.org/ncaasd.  Additionally, ESPNU will air a two-hour show at 5 p.m. Eastern time, Wednesday, April 5.
