Congratulations to the varsity football and volleyball teams for extending their 2021 seasons into post-season action!
Both squads defeated arch-rival Choate Rosemary Hall on Saturday, November 13 to earn their respective spots in this fall’s NEPSAC championship play.
In their final regular season game, the Big Green football team defeated Choate 50-26, extending their season record to 8-1. They will travel to Brunswick (7-2) to compete in the Mike Silipo Bowl this Saturday, 11/20, kick-off is set for 1pm on Crosby Field. This marks the second consecutive year that the Big Green will compete for the Mike Silipo Bowl. In 2019, the Big Green defeated Milton Academy to capture the title.
The varsity volleyball team added another win to their 16-2 regular season record by defeating Choate in straight sets (3-0) this past Saturday. With the win, the Big Green clinched the #3 seed in the NEPSAC Class A Volleyball Championship bracket and will host #6 St. Paul’s this Wednesday at 3:15pm in quarterfinal action. This will mark the third meeting between the two teams this season, the Big Green hold the series advantage (2-0) this fall.
Post-season play is familiar to the Big Green volleyball team as they advanced to the semifinal match of the NEPSAC Class A Volleyball championship in 2019.
