After the best season in their four-year Deerfield careers, girls varsity hockey seniors Mary Edmonds and Dierdre Mullowney were named to the New England Prep School Girls Ice Hockey Association 2018-2019 All-NEPSAC teams. Deidre received All-NEPSAC first team honors on defense and Mary was named to the honorable mention team as a forward.
In her senior season, co-captain Deirdre registered six goals and eight assists, totaling 14 points, leading the Big Green in points from the blue line. In addition to her efforts in the offensive zone, Deirdre was a leader and steady defensive presence all season, helping the team earn five shutouts during the season.
Mary’s senior season was highlighted by four hat tricks; she totaled 33 points on 22 goals and 11 assists. In her final campaign, Mary led the team in points and capped off her Deerfield hockey career with a game winning buzzer beater OT goal vs. Loomis.
This season the Big Green posted a 14-8-3 record, the winningest season since the team’s 2000-01 campaign when they won the New England Championship. Additionally, the team captured Cushing’s Edward G. Watkins Tournament Championship in December.
