Jimmy and his Junior Men’s Eight USA teammates will begin their national championship quest on Thursday, August 8th in the second opening heat of their division. The USA crew will face off against boats from Poland and Germany in their heat. The first Junior Men’s Eight heat will include boats from Croatia, Hungary, Great Britain and China. Each of the boats in Thursday’s opening heats will be racing for a place in Sunday’s World Junior Championship final.
Earlier this summer, Jimmy was invited to attend the US Rowing Jr. National Team U18 High Performance Camp at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, CA, where he trained alongside the U19 national team. This summer marked Jimmy’s second invitation to the high performance camp. Last summer, he participated in the U17 camp in Ashland, Oregon and went on to win two gold medals at the Club Nationals in Camden, NJ.
Earlier this spring, Jimmy helped the Big Green first boat post an undefeated regular season and later repeated for the 6th consecutive year as the New England Interscholastic Rowing Association Champions in the boys 1V 4+ division. Furthermore, the championship crew placed fourth in the Grand Final at the 2019 Junior National Championships in Sarasota, Florida.
