The final academic week of 2016 is in the books. The Big Green basketball and hockey teams are shifting their focus from the classroom to their holiday tournaments. This weekend the boys and girls varsity basketball teams will travel to Exeter and Miss Porter’s respectively for their tournaments. Boys varsity hockey will head to Boston for the Flood Marr Tournament at the Milton and Nobles rinks. The girls varsity hockey team will welcome 9 visiting teams from NEPSAC and the North American Prep Hockey Association to Deerfield for their annual Holiday Invitational.
Girls Varsity Basketball
Today, girls varsity basketball will travel to Miss Porter’s to take on Brewster at 4:30pm in the opening game of their tournament. The team will play again this Friday, their game time and opponent depends on the outcome vs. Brewster. Stay tuned for more tournament details.
Boys Varsity Basketball
Boys varsity basketball will travel northeast tomorrow to Exeter, NH for the Seacoast Classic Tournament. First up for the Big Green is Brunswick on Friday, 12/16 at 12:45pm. The team will have a quick break between games before taking on Suffield at 2:30pm and their round-robin play will conclude with Milton Academy on Saturday at 1:45pm. Sunday’s final game will be dependent on their round robin results.
Boys Varsity Hockey
Boys hockey will bounce back-and-forth between the Milton and Nobles rinks this weekend for the Flood Marr Tournament. The team will kick-off tournament play at Nobles vs. Nobles on Friday at 9:00am. The boys will stay at the Nobles rink on Friday to play against KUA at 7pm. On Saturday, the team will play at Milton vs. Salisbury at 3pm. Sunday’s opponent and game time is yet to be determined. Girls Varsity Hockey
The Deerfield Girls Hockey Holiday Invitational will kick-off tomorrow with the Big Green taking on Nichols at 8:00am in the opening game. The girls will be back on the ice at 1:15pm vs. King’s Edgehill. The tournament will wrap up with Saturday’s games. The Big Green will face Trinity College at 11:30am and Stanstead at 3:00pm.
