The girls varsity lacrosse team hosted Williston Northampton on Wednesday, April 24 on a beautiful spring day. The Big Green inked the game’s score sheet in the opening minute when they scored their first goal of the day on their first draw possession. The opening game goal fueled the Big Green to their 15-3 victory over the Wildcats.
According the coach’s post-game notes, “every unit on the field executed their role with maturity, patience, and determination. Not only did they play hard; they played smart. It was a full-team, full-50 minute effort, and we were more proud of their performance in every corner of the field. Deerfield demonstrated particular strength in both shot placement and draw control work.”
Wednesday’s victory extends the team’s mid-way season record to 5-2. The Big Green return to action this Saturday, April 27 for the first annual LBC bowl game at Westminster at 2:30pm.
Lindsay Bugbee Crosby was a beloved member of the Deerfield community before her family moved to Westminster and she became their Head Varsity Lacrosse coach. Lindsay passed away in July of 2018 after giving birth to her third child. The LBC bowl game will honor Lindsay’s love of great, passionate competition through sport.
