This spring, the girls lacrosse team has two Class A All-NEPSAC recipients: Morgan Giardina ’22 and Bliss Vernon ’22.
Morgan offered two stellar seasons in goal during her career playing for the Big Green. In her senior season, Morgan’s performance in net turned the tide in several close contests. In a tight game against Taft, Morgan came up with a staggering 20 saves. She was a key contributor to the team’s success and will be greatly missed next year.
The 2022 Theme of the Girls Lacrosse varsity season was “All Heart,” and it came as no surprise when Bliss Vernon was voted by her teammates as the “All Heart” player of the year. Bliss pours her full effort into every practice, game, and teammate. Deeply passionate for both the game and her fellow teammates on the field, Bliss works tirelessly toward the improvement of everyone’s performance. Gifted with natural athleticism, Bliss was a spark for the lacrosse team as both a midfielder and low defender. Her performance on draw controls, in particular, launched our team into several game-winning scenarios. She will be greatly missed, but we look forward to cheering her on at American.
This season the Big Green posted a 9-4 record which included a six-game winning streak from April 16 to May 4.
