The boys and girls rowing teams are one race in and have clinched their ticket to the semifinal races at the US Rowing Youth Nationals at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fl.
Earlier this morning the Big Green took to the water for the opening time trials of the championships. The boys boat crossed the finish line ahead of the field of 23 boats in the youth men’s 4+ division with a time of 6:11.895 for a first place overall time. Their time was four seconds ahead of the second place finishers. In the women’s youth 4+ time trials, it was a close race with only eight seconds separating the first and tenth place finishers. The Big Green finished in sixth place with a time of 7:06.505. Both boats will race again tomorrow in the semifinals.

Tomorrow, Friday, June, 10, the Big Green will return to the water for their second race of the championships. The boys boat is set to race in the semifinal 1 at 8:54am and the girls boat will follow in semifinal 2 at 9:15am.
The top three boats in each semifinal race will advance to the Final A race and next 3 boats will compete in the Final B race.
