This past Saturday, Deerfield Girls Hockey skated away with their third win and third shutout in a row against Berkshire at home. In their previous two games, the Big Green beat Winchendon 3-0 and Westminster 1-0. Against Berkshire, the girls came out strong in the second period when Peyton Wierl ’26 opened the scoring (assists to Cal Ferraris ’23 and Keira Austen ’26), and then Brady Wierl ’26 scored on the power play (assists to CC Deslauriers ’23 and Gia Thompson ’26). Ferraris then got a well-deserved goal of her own, finishing off a play from P. Wierl and Deslauriers. With one more power play goal in the third, Deslauriers found the rebound of a Kaley MacDonald ’23 blast (Thompson earned the secondary assist). Lauren Sobczak ’24 was a brick wall in goal, awarded the hard hat for her outstanding effort.
Congrats to the team on playing with heart and hustle, made clear by their 3-0 shutout record!
Next up, Girls Varsity Hockey competes on the road against Cushing, today, February 15th at 3:00 PM.
