In their season opener, the girls varsity basketball team earned their first victory of their 2021-2022 campaign over visiting St. Paul’s, 58-29.
The Big Green dominated the game, securing a fourteen point lead at the half. Consistent shooting and defensive intensity by the Big Green in the second half ultimately outpaced the visiting team.
Savannah Gibbs ’22 led all scorers with 15 for the Big Green. Georgia Sackrey ’23 and Avery Burns ’22 also contributing double digits to the scoresheet.
At the final whistle, the Big Green were victorious, 58-29.
The team will return to action this Thursday, December 16 against Lawrenceville in their first game of the Deerfield Girls Basketball Holiday Tournament. Tip off is set for 6:00pm.
