Saturday’s girls varsity tennis win over rival Choate, 6-3, proved to be critical for their post-season tournament berth. Announced today, with the win the Deerfield girls tennis team secured the final spot and #7 seed in the Class A Girls Tennis Tournament. The team will host the #2 seed Milton Mustangs in the opening round this Saturday, 5/20 at 11:00am. Also in the opening round, #3 Hotchkiss will play #6 Taft at Deerfield. The winners of these games will advance to the semifinal match to be played later Saturday at 3:30pm.
On the other side of the bracket, #1 seed Andover will get a bye through the first round of play while #4 Greenwich will play #5 Groton this Saturday at 11:00am at Groton. The winner will face Andover in the semifinal at 3:30pm.
The Class A finals will be played on Sunday, May 21st at 11:00am at Andover.
