Girls Squash Shuts Out Exeter

In their first contest of the New Year, the girls varsity squash team did not show any signs of rust from the winter break by shutting out Exeter, 7-0.

In the #1 spot for the Big Green, Devon L’Esperance ’22 defeated her opponent in straight games (11-4, 11-4, 11-4). Teammate, Griffin Dewey ’20 followed suit in the #2 spot, she was victorious in straight games (11-0, 11-2, 11-1).

The middle of the ladder results were similar, with #3 Sarah Stonetreet ’21 winning, 3-0 (11-8, 11-4, 11-2). At #4 Daly Baker ’22 also won in straight games (11-9, 11-3, 11-5). In the fifth spot, Emma Kahle ’22 shut out her opponent, winning 3-0 (11-8, 11-5, 11-4).

In the #6 and #7 spots, Alexandra Kelsey ’23 and Talbot von Stade ’21, respectively defeated their opponents 3-1.

With Saturday’s win, the team improves their early season record to 3-1. Up next, the Big Green will face-off against Westminster on January 25 in Simbsbury, CT.
