Girls varsity lacrosse seniors, Alli Norris and Hannah Valencia, were named to the 2018 Western New England Prep School Women’s Lacrosse Association All-Star Team.
Norris was an outstanding four-year contributing midfielder for the Big Green girls lacrosse team. Norris was the recipient of this year’s Ramsay Cup, presented annually to the Deerfield boy or girl varsity midfielder who excels in all facets of that most difficult position. In her final year in Green and White, Norris captained both the girls varsity lacrosse and soccer teams. Next year, she will continue her lacrosse career at Williams College.
As a post-graduate student-athlete, Valencia was one of the league’s best goalkeepers. In her lone season with the Big Green, Valencia was a valuable impact player on both the girls varsity lacrosse and soccer teams. Valencia will continue playing lacrosse for the Harvard Crimson next year. Additionally, Valencia was this year’s recipient of the Deerfield Lacrosse Coaches’ Award, given annually to a member of the team who displays character and discipline both on and off the field and accepts any challenge put before her.
This season, the girls varsity lacrosse team posted a 12-2 record, concluding their regular season schedule with an impressive 12-game winning streak!
