Congratulations to this week’s Doors of the Week!
Boys Thirds Basketball: Eddie Andrews ’27
Eddie Andrews has been a bundle of joy, enthusiasm, and grit. He brings an amazing amount of knowledge and leadership to the thirds boys basketball team. Coaches can rely on him to settle the team down, refocus their energy, and make the right play on zone presses. A huge help to the team, he’s also simply huge in the paint, leading the team in defensive and offensive boards this season.
Girls Varsity Hockey: Annie Dinges ‘24
This week’s nomination for Door of the Week is Annie Dinges. Annie has been a force on our offensive unit for all four years that she has been with the program. She has been an excellent leader both in the locker room and on the ice, and has had a great senior season with us thus far. In our three games this week, Annie netted 7 goals and 3 assists – with two hattricks. Not only was her offensive production impressive, she played every game modeling “Deerfield hockey” by keeping it simple, playing a 200 foot game, and working hard every shift she was out there. Great work, Annie!
Girls Varsity Basketball: McKenzie Goltermann ‘25
Our door of the week is McKenzie Goltermann ‘25 who has showed she has a next level to her game. In practice and during play, she has really stepped up her speed, competitiveness and overall contributions. She takes feedback seriously and makes the necessary adjustments when asked. Her leadership qualities have been key to our team dynamic during a stretch of losses.
Wrestling: David Peirce ’25
Wrestling’s door of the week is David Peirce. David was injured Saturday (after a smart aggressive start!) in a match against Hyde school. David showed incredible heart, toughness, and Deerfield spirit when he returned from the ER to watch the team compete against Andover on the same day. Since then, David has remained active where he can with the team, cheering and coaching teammates at today’s meet against Wilbraham.
Theatre: Gershom Munene ’27
Remarkably reliable, prepared, and punctual with a positive attitude, Gershom handles every challenge as an opportunity to soar to new heights as the Knave of Spades in Alice by Heart. From stunning lifts to soaring vocals to picking up new choreography with focused determination, Gershom is a stellar member of this incredible cast.
