Deerfield Wrestlers Place at 7th Annual Phillips Academy Girls Wrestling Tournament

On Saturday, 74 wrestlers from 39 different schools competed at the 7th Annual Phillips Academy Girls Wrestling tournament which included 19 different weight classes competing in round-robin style. Competing wrestlers had the opportunity to clinic with 2x Olympian and World Champion Elena Prozhkova before the meet.

Deerfield’s varsity girl wrestlers, Angela Osei-Ampadu and Annie Duong were among Saturday’s competitors.

In the round-robin format, Angela ’21 earned the silver medal in the 116 lb. class, ahead of competitors from Boston Latin and Hotchkiss.

Teammate, Anne ’22 competed against fellow wrestlers from NMH, Loomis Chaffee and Whittier Tech and earned 4th place in her class.
