Deerfield Swimmers Compete at National Club Swimming Association Junior Nationals

Last week, Deerfield swimmers, Shaun Kronenwetter ’19 and Simon Lam ’19 competed in the National Club Swimming Association Junior National Championships from March 13-17th in Orlando, FL. The two juniors earned the right to compete at the prestigious event with their national qualifying times, which they both produced during the 2017-2018 Deerfield swim season. The Deerfield swim team concluded their season on March 4th at the New England Prep School Swimming & Diving Championship.

At the recent NCSA event, Shaun and Simon raced against each other in the 50 yard backstroke and the 50 yard butterfly events. Shaun also raced in the 50 yard freestyle while Simon added races in the 100 yard backstroke and the 200 yard freestyle relay. For complete NCSA Juniors results click here.

This season, Shaun and Simon were members of the Big Green’s 200 yard medley relay which finished 3rd at the NEPSSA Championships. Shaun earned another 3rd place finish in the 50 yard freestyle and Simon finished in 5th in the 100 yard butterfly at the Championships. Additionally, Simon and Shaun finished in 4th and 5th, respectively, in the 100 yard backstroke.
