Deerfield Fall Teams Set Return to Action

The start of the fall 2021 athletic season has been hugely anticipated by students, coaches and fans. This weekend, several Deerfield varsity teams will return to the field of play for the first time since their fall 2019 season.

Tomorrow, the varsity football, field hockey, girls soccer and boys varsity and JV soccer teams will open their respective seasons with scrimmages against fellow NEPSAC schools. After almost two weeks of preseason, Deerfield teams are excited to compete against outside competition in their final practices before the start of their respective 2021 regular seasons.

The boys JV and varsity soccer teams will travel to Loomis Chaffee school to compete in their preseason playdate. They will play against Westminster, Loomis and Nobles.

At home, the varsity field hockey team will host their annual preseason playdate; facing off against Cushing, Williston and NMH. The girls varsity soccer team will also host a playdate with visiting Kimball Union, Williston, NMH, Berkshire and Vermont Academy.

The varsity football team will return to action on Jim Smith field hosting Taft in a scrimmage.

The regular season game schedule of contests will begin on Wednesday, September 15 when the girls varsity soccer team travels to Brooks for their opening game and the boys varsity soccer team will travel to Avon to kick-off their 2021 campaign!

The varsity volleyball team will travel to Loomis for their preseason playdate on September 15 and the boys water polo team will begin their 2021 quest on September 18 at the Choate Quad. Finally, the boys and girls cross-country teams will host the Annual Brush Invitational on September 18 as their first race of the season.
