Day 2 of Baseball Spring Training

Day #2 of spring training began under cloudy skies with a gentle breeze – perfect Florida baseball weather!  After Day #1, under the bright Florida sun, the cloud cover was a welcomed feature to the backdrop of fly balls and “Priority Pops.”  The Big Green squad has benefited from full field training situations and the high reps continue to be a valuable teaching tool.  Temporary coaches Sam August and Christian Wonders, have enhanced the atmosphere while providing information and the flexibility to manage positional work.  August is teaching outfield play and hitting, while Wonders is working wonders with the pitching staff, giving them the attention they need and deserve.  Both contribute a tremendous amount of knowledge with experience in college baseball, both as players and in coaching. All systems are “go” as the squad opens a stretch of 6 games in the next 7 days. The team attended a dinner for the IMG National Classic Tournament, which opens the season for the Big Green with a 4:00pm game today, March 20th vs. Trinity Christian Academy.
