The first game week of the fall 2023 season has arrived for several Big Green teams. Deerfield teams have been working hard preparing for this opportunity to return to the field of competition to represent the Green and White.
The girls varsity and boys varsity soccer teams will lead the way, both teams kick-off their 2023 campaigns this Wednesday, September 12. The girls varsity soccer team will host Brooks on Fair Family Field at 4:00pm and the boys varsity soccer team travels to Avon Old Farms for their season opener at 3:30pm. The boys varsity soccer team will return home on Saturday, September 16 for their home opener against Salisbury School.
Varsity field hockey and varsity volleyball will continue their season preparation with scrimmages on Wednesday, September 12. Field hockey will open their season away at Berkshire on Saturday, September 16 while JV field hockey will host Berkshire at home in their first game.
The boys and girls cross-country program will host the annual Brush Invitational on Saturday on the Deerfield course.
It will be a busy opening Saturday at home for the Big Green. Additional home contests include:
– Girls Thirds Volleyball vs. Suffield @ 2:30pm
– Boys Varsity Water Polo vs. Brunswick & Choate @ 2:30 & 4:30pm
Boys JV soccer will travel to Suffield to kick-off their season against the Tigers.
Finally, the varsity football team will travel down I-91 to neighboring Williston Northampton School to kick-off their 2023 season against the Wildcats. Kick-off is slated for 7:00pm.
