She comes to practice ready for anything and adjusts to whatever is thrown her way. Hunter takes her positivity and lessons from the water into life on campus and is an awesome ambassador for the team. Thanks Hunter for all the hard work. Keep smiling!

Boys Varsity Rowing: Gabe Moos ‘19

Gabe Moos wins the final rower of the week for winning the end-of-season novice 2k event this Monday afternoon with a 7:01.3. Gabe’s piece proved his athletic intelligence through his remarkable consistency throughout the piece, as well as his impressive cardiovascular engine. Aside from his erg prowess, Gabe has shown remarkable tenacity from his early days of awkwardly swinging the oar around in Orlando until the recent Choate race, where he contributed to a dominant win from the 2 seat of the 6th varsity. Congratulations, Gabe, for a great season, and for winning our last rower of the week award.

Girls JV Lacrosse: Lara Akande ‘20

Lara Akande ’20 is our athlete of the week because of her steady growth as a lacrosse player throughout the season.  Through hard work, combined with her natural athleticism, Lara went from being a lacrosse novice to one of our most valuable defenders.  Lara has made several key plays for us throughout the season, especially in the last few games.  She is beginning to master one-on-one defense and sliding or crashing to help her teammates. Lara has also caused several turnovers and cleared the ball to our offensive end using her tremendous speed.  We are really proud of Lara’s contributions to the JV lacrosse team and excited to coach her next year!
