Abby Fernald Leads Camels at NESCAC Championship

Congratulations to Abby Fernald ’22 and her Connecticut College cross-country teammates on their historical season!

Fernald made history this cross-country season for the Camels. Fernald finished in 5th place at the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship race and earned All-NESCAC First Team honors. Fernald’s top five finished led the Camels to their fourth place finish overall; recording the program’s best finish in the history of the event.

Following the NESAC Championship race, the Camels raced to a third place finish at the Mideast Regional and Fernald collected All-Regional Honors for her efforts. Furthermore, the team’s regional performance qualified the team to complete at the NCAA Division III National Championships. This marked the program’s best-ever finish at an NCAA regional and beat several teams above them in the regional rankings.

Fernald and her teammates capped off their historic season finishing 28th at the NCAA Championship in their debut.

Congratulations Abby!
