On Saturday, April 27 Deerfield boys varsity lacrosse earned their eighth straight victory of the season on the road at Andover.
The Big Green faced a hardworking and gritty Big Blue lacrosse team. The game was tight from the start and included lots of back and forth physical play between the boxes. Both defenses played composed and forced each offense to look for other answers.
Deerfield gained an early lead thanks to Zach Davis ’20 scoring a few a early goals.
For both teams, the scoring happened in the first half of the game and each side had a hard time getting to the middle of the field to put pressure on the goalie.
The Big Green relied on the strength of their team communication and help defense from Aidan Philie ‘20, Reece Lagerquist ‘19 and Nick Pecora ‘20 to keep the lead to one goal.
In the fourth quarter, Griffin Schutz ’21 broke through the Big Blue defense netting a big goal to put the Big Green ahead by two and seal the eighth straight victory for the Big Green!
Up next, the Big Green will travel to Yale to face-off against Lawrenceville in a neutral site game. Game time is set for 4:30pm.
