Fall Theater Reception
6:00 - 6:45 pm
Join us for the Opening Night of the Fall Play!
Playwright Kate Hamill confronts the sexism in Bram Stoker’s original work in this thrilling new adaptation that bounces between horror and humor. Upending the familiar tropes of damsels in distress and dashing villains, Hamill replaces them with all-too-human monsters and ferocious women who drive a gleeful stake through the heart of the patriarchy itself. With buckets of blood and a ton of garlic, this riotous production celebrates the Halloween season perfectly!
Opening Night Reception is at 6:00 pm with a pre-show discussion from Director Catriona Hynds. The performance starts at 7:00 pm.

Join us at Deerfield Academy for our production of Kate Hamill’s Little Women, a fresh and lively adaptation of the beloved novel. Jo March doesn’t want to be treated like other girls; in fact, she’s not even sure that she wants to be a girl. Jo is ambitious, rough around the edges, headstrong, and yearns for a future she can’t yet articulate. As the nation is torn apart by civil war, Jo and her sisters Meg, Beth, and Amy struggle with what it means to grow up. Restrictive gender roles, political beliefs, poverty, and even love itself threaten to break family ties, as the March sisters try to reconcile their identities with society’s demands. How do you stay true to yourself when the world wants you to become a perfect little woman?

New England Winter Theater Reception

In the depths of a long, dark winter, don’t we all need to enjoy a little chuckle here and a rib-tickle there? “Fools” by comedy king, Neil Simon, offers just that. In an idyllic European hamlet in the 1890s, the townsfolk have been cursed with chronic stupidity for over two hundred years. Our hero, Leon Tolchinsky, an earnest and bright young teacher, arrives to teach the town doctor’s daughter. When he falls in love with her, will there be enough time for him to break the curse before he too is struck dumb? Audiences are sure to enjoy a host of zany characters and some wild and hilarious antics. We look forward to seeing you there!
