Main School Building

2nd Floor Classrooms w/ Projectors

  • Plug HDMI cable with video adapter on cart into MacBook.
  • On Epson remote, press On button to power on projector
  • Press LAPTOP button on Extron switcher sitting on top of BluRay player
  • Turn on Anchor Speaker mounted to cart by pressing Power switch on back of speaker. Use Volume knob on speaker to raise/lower volume. Volume level may also be adjusted via application.
  • When done:
    • Unplug cable from MacBook.
    • Press Standby on Epson remote.  A beep will sound when the projector shuts down.
NOTE:  When using an HDMI connection for first time a change to audio settings will need to be made on MacBook.  This only needs to done once.  While connected to HDMI cable:
  • Click on Apple menu and select System Preferences
  • Select Sound
  • Select Output tab
  • From list displayed under Select a device for sound output:, select Epson (Type will read HDMI)
  • Close Sound window
  • MacBook will remember this setting

Wireless projection is available through the Apple TV in the classroom.
If projecting an iPad, please go to Apple TV
If projecting a MacBook Air,  it must be running macOS 10.12.x (Sierra) or higher.

  • The MacBook Air must be connected GreenDoor
  • Power on projector by pressing On button on Epson remote
  • Press APPLE TV on Extron switcher on top of BluRay player
  • Click on AirPlay icon in menu bar at top of laptop screen (looks like a rectangle with a solid black triangle sticking into bottom).
  • Select Apple TV being used (all Apple TV’s are named by room)
  • Desktop image should now be projected.
  • When done, be sure to disconnect from Apple TV so next person in room can connect.
    • Select AirPlay icon
    • Select Turn Mirroring Off

Before connecting to an Apple TV, make sure the iPad is connected to the GreenDoor wireless network.
To ensure the best signal quality in the classroom, it is recommended that before following these steps turn off wifi on the iPad and then turn it back on.

  • Power on projector via On button on Epson remote
  • Press APPLE TV on Extron switcher on top of BluRay player. When Apple TV screen appears, move on to next steps.
  • Activate AirPlay on iPad **
    • Slide a finger up from bottom of screen
    • Select AirPlay icon (bottom center right – looks like a rectangle with a solid black triangle sticking into the bottom)
    • Select classroom (all Apple TVs are named by room) and turn Mirroring On
    • iPad image should now be projected.
      • If image does not appear, go back to AirPlay icon and turn Mirroring On.  In some cases, mirroring does not take the first time.
  • Volume is controlled from knob on the speaker and volume toggle on iPad.

When done, be sure to disconnect from Apple TV so next person in room can connect.

  • Go back to AirPlay on your iPad
  • Select iPad to disconnect from Apple TV
  • Press Standby on Epson remote

** NOTE: To ensure reliable connectivity, you must be running iOS 10.x or later on your iPad.  Please contact the ITS Help Desk if you need assistance upgrading to the latest version of iOS.

  • Turn on BluRay player via remote control or press power button on front of player
  • Turn on projector via On button on Epson remote.
  • Press BLURAY button on Extron switcher sitting on top of BluRay player.
  • Insert disc. Use the BluRay player remote control for viewing options (Play, FF, Rewind). Use Volume knob on speaker to control volume.
  • When you are done:
    • Eject disc
    • Turn off BluRay player via remote control or power button on front of player
    • Turn off Projector via Standby button on Epson remote
  • Press On on Epson remote
  • Press DOC CAM button on Extron switcher sitting on top of BluRay player.
  • Press Power Button on the Document Camera.
  • Place document/object to be displayed under camera
  • Document will appear on screen.  Camera will Auto-Focus on document/object
    • Note: The image may take several seconds to appear.
  • Use Controls on Document Camera for Zoom, Focus and to adjust Brightness.
  • Use Lamp Switch on camera head to toggle between 3 settings: BrightDim and Off.
  • To Freeze image – hold image on screen while changing/replacing current document/object – press and release the Camera Icon button
  • To continue with another image after Freeze, place new document under camera and press Camera Icon Button.
  • When Done:
    • Press Power button on document camera. Press Power a second time to confirm shut down.
    • Lower arm by pushing on green handle.  Close document camera drawer.
    • Press Standby on Epson remote

Additional Features:

This document camera has the ability to take snapshots and record video of documents/objects under the camera.  In addition, the camera can be used to record video of goings on in the classroom (e.g., demonstrations, presentations).  If you are interested in using any of these features, please contact Kristopher Wiemer or Heather Sharpes-Smith for assistance.

    • Press Power on both NEC and Samsung remotes

  • Press Power Button on the Document Camera.
  • Place document/object to be displayed under camera
  • Document will appear on screen.  Camera will Auto-Focus on document/object
    • Note: The image may take several seconds to appear.
  • Use Controls on Document Camera for Zoom, Focus and to adjust Brightness.
  • Use Lamp Switch on camera head to toggle between 3 settings: BrightDim and Off.

  • Use Vol Up and Vol Dwn on button panel to raise or lower speaker volume. Volume may also be adjusted via application.
  • When done:
    • Unplug HDMI cable from laptop
    • Press and hold Off on button panel – about 5 seconds – to power down projector
