2024–25 ENROLLMENT INFORMATION

Congratulations on being selected to travel on the Washington, D.C.: The First Amendment, Past and Present travel program! This trip is dedicated to exploring how the Constitutional freedoms protecting speech, the press, religion, and protest are embodied in the history of the nation and contemporary life in the District of Columbia.

General Program Information:

  • Program Dates: February 6th – 10th, 2025
  • Trip Leaders: Brian Hamilton, Matthew Westman, and John Dollhopf
  • Updated Itinerary (COMING SOON), preliminary itineraries can be found on the Trip Page HERE
  • Program Notes:
    • Program Meeting Point: On February 6th, Students and Program leaders will depart from Deerfield Academy and travel via bus to the John Oliver Transit station and will travel together via train to Washington, D.C., arriving on February 6th, 2025
    • Cell Phone Policy: As part of Deerfield’s commitment to face-to-face interactions, during certain times of the trip students will be “unplugged” without access to cell phones.
    • Other Important Information about the program: During this trip, students will stay in hotels. Meals will be shared at hotels, restaurants, or picnic-style.

Payment Information:

The remaining balance of the program fee will be billed to your student account on December 11, 2024, and due in full by January 1, 2025.
