Pre- trip Plans:

Moving out of campus and departing for the CSGC trips is always a team effort, and for this to be a smooth and successful departure process, we are reaching out to families and students with reminders on how to “finish strong” and go on the summer travel programs without leaving behind more work for others!

Since the Dominican Republic group departs at 4:00pm from the MSB on May 26th, we ask you to please follow these directions:
  • Families and students must pack as much as they can during the weekend of May 24th and 25th.
  • Students must “check-out” with the dorm resident on duty that day before departing on their CSGC trip.

On May 26th, Students and Trip Leaders will meet in front of the MSB on the Deerfield Academy campus at 4:00PM. The group will then travel together via bus to the Doubletree by Hilton Boston Logan Airport in Boston, MA.

The group will spend the night at the hotel together before waking up early to head to the Logan Airport (BOS) and depart on their flight to Santo Domingo at 9:51AM

Post-trip Plans:

Please note that this trip ends on June 3rd at the John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK), with an estimated time of arrival at 2:29PM. Families should plan for this accordingly and as you see in the form, there are a few options:

  • The student’s family or friend of the family can pick them up at the airport.
  • The student can fly to another city to meet their family or friend of the family.

If you decide on the second option, it is important to start planning for this now and ensure that students have enough time between when the group lands at JFK and when their next flight takes off. Things to consider are potential delays, customs and immigration, baggage claim, and possible terminal transfers. We recommend contacting the airlines directly to ensure appropriate layover times (taking into account the possibility of delays). If you have questions or require help with this process, please let us know.

Payment Information:

The remaining balance of the program fee will be billed to your student account on December 11, 2024, and due in full by January 1, 2025.
