The Big Brothers Big Sisters program connects juniors and seniors at Deerfield Academy with children in Franklin County who want to have an older boy or girl as a role model. In a typical year, the Bigs and Littles meet from 6:00-8:00 pm most Friday evenings and spend their time together on campus playing tag, basketball, hide-and-go-seek, board games, and much more.
In response to the pandemic, for the 2020-2021 academic year, Bigs and Littles meet virtually from 6:30 – 7:00 pm on Zoom on Friday evenings to play games on the whiteboard, have dance parties, watch videos, talk and more. The Bigs then stay online from 7:00 – 7:30 pm for a debrief session with the Program Coordinator.
