Track & Field Performers Earn All-NEPSAC Recognition

Congratulations to Elic Ayomanor ’22, Joe Metzger ’22, Wedner Cadet ’22 and the boys 4×100 meter relay team of Nick Peltekian ’22, Alex Haight ’22, Christian Reavis ’23 and Elic Ayomanor for earning All-NEPSAC honors in track & field this spring.

Elic was named the league Most Valuable Performer this season. He attained All-NEPSAC honors in four different events – the 100 Meter, 200 Meter, Long Jump and 4×100 Meter Relay – and set league records in two events on May 21, 2022 at the New England Class A Championship meet in addition to setting new school records this season. According to Coach Stallings, “Elic put proof to what his coaches and teammates have known since the first day that he set foot on Deerfield’s Track: he will henceforth be the standard by which NEPSAC Track athletes evaluate their achievements.”

In the high jump event, Wedner earned All-NEPSAC Honors. Wedner came in, worked hard every day with Coach Belcher, and set a new school record of 6′ 7″ in the High Jump on his way to a crucial victory at the league meet. He’s got a lot more spring in his legs if he continues jumping next year!

Joe Metzger earned All-NEPSAC in the shot put and was the catalyst for a throws crew with staying power, and he is also All-NEPSAC in getting teammates and opponents psyched up to do their best work. He’ll compete for Deerfield at Nationals in June.

Finally, the always impressive and super speedy 4×100 Meter Relay team including: Nick Peltekian, Alex Haight, Christian Reavis & Elic Ayomanor earned All-NEPSAC. Assembled slowly over the course of the spring, once this team came together in early April, they never let up, setting new school records almost every time they took the baton. Their legacy will live on with DA Track for years to come!

Congratulations!

Go Big Green!
