This was one of the most successful fall seasons for Big Green athletes in recent memory.
A pair of Deerfield Academy runners were first to the finish line at the New England Prep School Championships — which Deerfield played host to. Sam Belcher (’11) won the boys race to spark a second-place finish for the Big Green, while Ariel Beauregard-Breton (’11) captured the girls race, leading her mates to a third-place finish.
The boys water polo team meanwhile, captured its third New England crown in the past four years, outlasting Choate, 11-10.
The football team went 6-2 and missed out on a Super Bowl invite by one game. Boys soccer (9-7-2) earned a postseason berth, as did girls volleyball (7-7). Girls soccer posted a 5-8-3 record, while field hockey was 6-11.
This week, we’ll be reviewing some of the highlights of DA’s fall sports season. Tomorrow football takes the spotlight, reflecting on a season that ended with the team narrowly missing a Super Bowl berth.
