Teddy McCarthy ’20 Leads Big Green with Podium Finish at Diving Championships

Senior co-captain Teddy McCarthy ’20 captured the silver medal at the 2020 NEPSAC Division I Diving Championships yesterday at Deerfield’s Koch Natatorium.

In the 11 dive championship competition, Teddy paced the Deerfield divers, amassing 431.85 points en route to his second place finish. This is the second time in his career that Teddy has collected a silver medal at the championship. Last season, he established his new personal best finish at the championship meet in second place.

Deerfield’s Harry Niles finished in ninth place (263.85), improving three spots from his 12th place finish in 2019. Peter Osbourne placed 15th (189.50) and Mark Chung was 17th overall (137.65).

Heading into the final meet of the season – the NEPSAC DI Championship – this weekend at the Hotchkiss school, the boys swimming and diving team enter the meet in third place with 28 points amassed at the diving championship.
