For the 2018 season, varsity field hockey players, Christina Halloran ’20 and Olivia Mikesell ’20 were named Western New England Prep School Field Hockey All-Stars.
Christina had an excellent junior season for the varsity field hockey team. As the team’s sweep, she was a force in the backfield and anchored a defensive unit that allowed only 14 goals during the regular season. Moreover, Christina played a pivotal role in the team’s offensive corners that generated several goals during the season. She is a fast, skilled, versatile player and she exhibits the utmost sportsmanship whenever she plays. She is a stand-out player in the league and we congratulate her on the well-deserved all-star recognition!
Liv had a great season in net for the Big Green. Giving up only 14 goals during the regular season, Liv came up with huge saves for Deerfield and she was an excellent leader in net. Liv was always willing to do whatever it took to make the saves; she dove, jumped, or sprinted out of the net to challenge players one-on-one. She is an agile, talented goalie and she helped to create an incredibly cohesive and successful defensive unit. We congratulate her on the well-deserved all-star recognition!
This fall, the Big Green finished the season with an overall record of 12-3-1 and qualified for the Class A Field Hockey Championship quarterfinals.
Congratulations Christina & Liv!
