If I had to describe the Deerfield vs. Groton Girls Varsity Tennis match in one word, it would have to be “domination”. With only 3 returners, it was unclear to coach David Dickinson how this young team would execute. Deerfield swept 7-0, with the highlight of the afternoon being the comeback victory of Mary Cherna at #3 singles. After being down 2-7, she came back to win 11-10 in a tiebreaker. The girls will play Westminster on Wednesday with the hope of continuing their 2-0 record.
