Girls Varsity Rowing Concludes Season with a Sweep

In their final competition of the 2021 spring season, the girls varsity rowing team swept Winsor in all four boats to seal the victory.

The Big Green faced off against Winsor on the Charles River in Boston with four fours.

Each of the Deerfield crews led from the start and were able to stay ahead of the Winsor boats and control the race until the finish line.

The fourth boat crossed the finish line with a time of 5:17.24, nearly four seconds ahead of the Winsor crew. The third boat gained an impressive lead, clocking in at 5:00.08. The closest race of the day came in the second boat with just over two seconds separating the opponents. The Big Green crew held the advantage with a time of 4:51.92. Finally, the first boat cruised to the finish line with a time of 4:38.62 for the victory.

Adding to the day, the majority of the Deerfield crews had never rowed on the iconic, Charles River before Saturday’s contest against Winsor.

The win capped off a great season for the Big Green!
