Girls Squash 3rd in the Nation

The girls squash team entered and finished the HEAD 2017 U.S. High School Team Championships tournament ranked 3rd in the nation.  The team blanked their opponents in the opening 2 rounds of the HEAD 2017 U.S. High School Team Championships to advance to the semifinals to face Baldwin School.  By a slim margin, the girls were handed their first loss of the season and eliminated from the tournament by Baldwin in a close 4-3 loss.

In the opening round the girls defeated Exeter 7-0 earning their way to the 2nd round.

The team improved upon their undefeated season as they beat Lawrenceville 7-0 in the 2nd round.

In semifinal action defending National champions Greenwich Academy defeated Noble and Greenough School 7-0. On the other side of the bracket, the Deerfield girls played a close match against Baldwin School and came up a win short of the finals.

Girls Varsity Squash in between matches at the US High School Championship

Greenwich Academy defeated Baldwin School in the finals by a score of 6-1 to claim the national title.

The Deerfield girls return to the court this Wednesday, 2/15 at home vs. Taft at 3:30pm. Later this month, 2/24 to 2/26, Deerfield will be the host site for the New England Class A Squash Championships.
