Gil Roddy ’14, a former four-year standout for the Deerfield Academy boys tennis team, has continued his winning ways on the collegiate level. This past weekend, Roddy chipped in with a big assist as Bowdoin College captured its first NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Championship.
The Polar Bears won the title following a commanding 5-0 victory over archrival Middlebury College. In doubles play, Roddy teamed up with Grant Urken to win their match, 8-4, while the sophomore pounded out a 6-4, 6-4 win in the No. 5 singles slot to round out the shutout.
Bowdoin finished with a 20-3 record on the season, while Roddy contributed an 18-2 mark.
