Eleven Football Players Receive League Recognition

Eleven Deerfield football players received league honors, as recognized by the Central New England Football League and the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council, for their efforts on the field during the 2018 fall season.

The Big Green posted a 6-3 season record that included a four-game winning streak that started with the September 29th win at Hotchkiss, 13-7 and continued through October 20th for the Big Green’s come from behind win at Exeter, 37-14.

Jackson McCarty ‘19 – Offensive Line – 1st Team Offense

Trumayne Guy ‘19 – Offensive Line – 1st Team Offense

Garrett Alexander ‘19 – Defensive Line – 1st Team Defense

Max Stevens ’20 – Linebacker – 1st Team Defense

Jack Bill ‘19 – Quarterback – 2nd Team Offense

Quinton Quirrenbach ’19 – Athlete – 2nd Team Offense

Marcus Romboli ’20 – Offensive Line – 2nd Team Offense

Bennett Pitcher ‘21 – Tight End/Wide Receiver – 2nd Team Offense

Francis Dooley ’19 – Defensive Line – 2nd Team Defense

Kyle MacGillis ’19 – Wide Receiver – Honorable Mention

Jackson McCarty – All-CNEFL 1st Team & All-NEPSAC

Jackson McCarty led the 2018 DA football team in many ways; the senior captain from York, ME anchored the Big Green’s offensive and defensive lines.  Jackson is an athletic and physical player with a high motor who produced against both the run and pass as one of the best lineman in NEPSAC football.  Jackson was recognized as a 1st team All CNEFL offensive lineman and was a 1st team all NEPSAC selection on the defensive line.  Great season Jackson!

Jack Bill – All-CNEFL 2nd Team & All-NEPSAC

Jack Bill has led the DA offensive attack at QB for the past 2 seasons.  The senior QB was one of the most productive players in NEPSAC football where he led thebBig Green in both passing and rushing. He was selected as 2nd team All CNEFL as well as 1st team All NEPSAC at quarterback.

Trumayne Guy – All-CNEFL 1st Team

Trumayne Guy had a dominant post graduate season pacing the DA offensive line at left tackle.  He stymied opposing pass rushes while paving holes in the run game.  Trumayne was selected 1st team All CNEFL offensive lineman.

Garrett Alexander – All-CNEFL 1st Team

Garrett Alexander continued to dominate opposing offensive lines from his position on the defensive front.  His athletic play and relentless motor paced a productive defensive front for the Big Green.  He has led the DA defense in tackles for loss and sacks over the past 2 seasons.  He was selected as a 1st team All CNEFL defensive end.

Max Stevens – All-CNEFL 1st Team

Max Stevens paced a very productive linebacking core and defense with his play at inside linebacker in his junior campaign and 1st year at DA.  His explosive play led the team in tackles and big plays throughout the season.  For his efforts he was selected as a 1st team All CNEFL linebacker.

Quinton Quirrenbach – All-CNEFL 2nd Team

Quinton Quirrenbach was an explosive offensive play waiting to happen throughout his PG campaign at DA. He was a top receiver, explosive runner and returned 2 kicks for touchdowns for the Big Green.  He was selected as a 2nd team All CNEFL as an athlete.

Marcus Romboli – All-CNEFL 2nd Team

Marcus Romboli proved to be a physical force on the offensive and defensive lines for DA this season.  The 1st year DA student athlete paved the way in his junior campaign.  Marcus was selected as a 2nd team All CNEFL on the offensive line for his efforts.

Bennett Pitcher – All-CNEFL 2nd Team

Bennett Pitcher was an impact player at tight end in his sophomore season at DA.  His 2nd year starting led him to be recognized by his peers and opponents as a dominant player and someone to watch in the future seasons.  For his efforts Bennett was honored as 2nd team All CNEFL tight end.

Francis Dooley – All-CNEFL 2nd Team

Francis Dooley is a PG defensive end who’s explosive plays made an immediate impact for the big green.  He produced 16 sacks on the season with 9 more tackles for loss in just 9 games.  Francis was recognized as a 2nd team All CNEFL defensive end.

Kyle MacGillis – All-CNEFL Honorable Mention

Kyle MacGillis led the team in receptions in his post graduate season.  He demonstrated his knack to get open and phenomenal hands throughout the season.  For his efforts he was recognized as an Honorable Mention All CNEFL wide receiver.

Donnie Gray – All-CNEFL Honorable Mention

Donnie Gray provided a spark for the big green in his sophomore season where the CT native returned 2 interceptions as well as a kickoff return for touchdowns.  He contributed in all 3 phases of the game with his athleticism and skill.  For his efforts he was recognizes as an Honorable Mention All CNEFL defensive back.
