Deerfield Opens Season with a Win

The Big Green opened its 2022 season on Wednesday hosting Belmont Hill. The Big Green – ranked No. 8 in the nation by Inside Lacrosse – defeated the visiting side 10-6.

Deerfield took an early lead in the game and held a 4-1 advantage at the end of the first quarter.

At halftime, the score remained in Deerfield’s favor, 6-3.

In the third quarter, Belmont Hill netted a couple of back-to-back goals to bring the score to 6-5; the closest margin of the game.

Deerfield responded in the fourth quarter by netting four goals to improve their lead and the final score to 10-6.

This Saturday Deerfield will host No. 3 ranked Brunswick on Fair Family Field.
