On Wednesday, the Big Green were victorious over Loomis Chaffee in their home opener of the fall 2024 season.
In the opening frame, the Big Green jumped ahead to an early lead scoring six goals and led the visiting Pelicans 6-2 at the end of the first period.
The second period was more evenly matched with the Big Green netting another three goals and the Pelicans registering two goals of their own.
In the third and fourth periods, the Pelicans outscored the Big Green, but it wasn’t enough to surpass the Big Green lead and defense. The score was 10-9 in favor of the home side at the final whistle.
Senior co-captain Giulio Migliarina led the Big Green in scoring by netting three goals. Teammate GD Lee ’28 also notched three goals of his own.
Patrick Zhang ’26 netted two goals while Max Fukodome ’28 and Ethan Amundson ’26 each netted a goal of their own for the Big Green.
Senior co-captain Barron Celli anchored the Big Green defense in goal and made 16 stops in the match.
The boys varsity water polo team returns to action this Saturday, September 21 at Westminster when they face off against Andover and Westminster.
