In the first game of 2025, Deerfield Girls Hockey faced off against Lawrenceville in a matinee match up at home. We started slowly, and Lawrenceville got on the board first on the power play. But, we scored the next two goals of the period, the first from Jilliam Limb ’28 (first of her DA career) off of a Brady Wierl ’26 face off win, and the second from Sophie Frost ’26 off of a great give-and-go with Wierl. Allie Correri ’25 doubled our lead early in the second period on a nice individual effort, and then Ava Giroux ’26 scored an incredibly gritty goal, taking a hard shot from Frost in the gut and keeping her composure long enough to fire in the rebound (second assist to Olivia Austen ’27). Keira Austen ’26 rounded out the scoring in the third period on a breakaway, taking a great pass from Limb after excellent pressure on the blueline from Gia Thompson ’26. Campbell Krotee ’25 earned the win in goal, and Reagan Deery ’28 was the hard hat recipient. Many thanks to the Giroux family for the delicious wraps and snacks after the game! Next up is NMH on the road on Wednesday.
