Deerfield wrestled well today against four sharp teams at the Association of 8 dual tournament at Choate.  The team has been nagged by injuries sustained both in recent matches and during matches today, so team scores don’t tell the story of the day.  Exceptional performances from Bronson Branch, Blaze Etienne-Cummings, and Shogo O’Connor, all of whom were 2-1 on the day in matches wrestled and showing both great decision-making under pressure and lots of heart when behind.  Artie Liendo acquitted himself well, going 2-2 as the only wrestler to actually have four matches today and never giving up when facing tough opposition.  Rookie wrestlers Emmanuel Atiegha, Quinn Clark, Ken Hata, and Zohan Subhash all wrestled well and gained some great experience out there today. Despite losing records on the day, Zavi Salomon-Fernandez and Captain David Peirce both wrestled with impressive grit.  They never backed down and gave their all against nationally-ranked opposition. Go Big Green!
