Deerfield Boys Varsity Soccer matched up against Kent on Saturday September 28th at home. The Green had their first home game in 3 matches. The boys started off slow, defending well but not generating good offensive play. The second half also started off slow but by the 25th minute of the second half, Deerfield was able to get on the board with an incredible goal by captain Jonny Scagel ‘25 assisted from Jack Dvorin ‘25. After this Deerfield’s play dramatically improved, and 16 minutes later Deerfield was able to score an electric goal by Owen Tymchuk ‘26 assisted by freshman Mateo Mendoza-Silva ‘28. Deerfield was able to get in the win column after a winless streak of four games. The Big Green will face Berkshire Academy this upcoming Wednesday.
