Deerfield Boys Varsity Soccer squared up against Avon Old Farm’s boys soccer team for the Green’s home opener. The Doors were off to a super hot start putting 4 goals on Avon in the first 30 minutes of the game. To kick off the scoring was a penalty kick from captain Jonny Scagel ‘25 in the 6th minute, followed by another incredible goal from Scagel again from the right edge of the box assisted by interim captain Jack Dvorin ‘25. Dvorin was not done racking up assists as 6 minutes later, he again assisted Teddy Cyr ‘26 on a goal to put the Winged Beavers down 3 within 20 minutes. The Green scored their final goal in the 28th minute with Jadin Smith ‘26 putting on in the back with a pass from Felix Alfaro ‘27. The rest of the game was very defensive and the Doors held on to get their first home win of the season against a strong Avon team.
