The boys came out with good energy after a 2.5hr bus ride to Greenwich, but were frustrated by the small field and Brunswick’s stingy defense. We moved the ball better than they did and generated more chances, but were unable to find the back of the net on this sunny, hot afternoon. Keeper Joe Berman played with us and tended his net very well. The back line of Gunter Weldon, Finn Knight, Michael Hioe, and Kiefer Ebling played all 80 minutes and were outstanding. Justin Scalzo took a positive forward in the midfield with improved dispossessing and distribution to teammates. Oscar Sanford anchored the midfield and made several cheeky diagonal passes to forwards, which will eventually be converted. Coaches were proud of the effort. Too bad we could find the W!
