Deerfield fell to Suffield 14-7 in their first road game of the season. Suffield opened the game with an 8 yard touchdown on 4th and Goal to take an early 7-0 lead. It would be the only points the Suffield offense scored on the afternoon. Suffield’s 2nd touchdown came on defense by way of a 70 yard fumble return. Suffield went into the half up 14-0. Deerfield was able to the cut the lead to 14-7 with a TD run by QB Conor Hevesy. Deerfield elected to kick off with 5 minutes left and 2 timeouts hoping to get a defensive stop. Suffield was able to convert on a 4th and 4 with 2 minutes remaining to seal the game. On defense, CB Will Machnik had an interception and ILB Bear Adams had 2 sacks.
