Deerfield fell to 0-3 after a 38-13 home loss against 1st place Brunswick. Deerfield opened the game with a surprise onside kick, which they recovered, but were unable to get any offensive momentum on the ensuing drive. Brunswick scored on their first 3 drives of the game to go ahead 21-0 before Deerfield mounted a 14 play TD drive at the end of the 2nd quarter to cut the lead to 21-7. Deerfield received the 2nd half kick, but did not put any points on the board while Brunswick scored on their first two drives of the 2nd half, making it 35-7 at the start of the 4th quarter. QB Conor Hevesy made his first start of the season and played well. He went 12-17 passing and rushed for 20 yards. RB Liam Appleton scored both TDs for Deerfield.
