Deerfield hosted Milton on Wednesday. Despite the long drive for the Mustangs, Milton came out firing and scored within the first minute of the game. Fortunately, Deerfield responded and tied it up on a goal from Julia Tamul ’22 and added another one before the end of the half on a goal by Lilly Oliver ’11. Milton evened the score halfway through the 3rd quarter, but DA responded again and Reagan Deery ’28 added a tally three minutes later on a scramble in front of the net. Tamul and Chloe Cleaves ’26 then hustled and created a stroke opportunity when a Milton defender blocked a shot on the goal line and Oliver secured a 4-2 lead on a successful stroke. Cleaves set up Tamul for a 5th goal at the start of the fourth, before adding her own tally on a beautiful breakaway ending in a diving goal with 2.5 minutes left in the game. It was a great team effort from the Big Green, a strong defensive performance from Eloise Hochberg ’27 and Erin Dunne ’28, and Kate Doucette ’27 got the win in net. Up next: DA travels to Exeter on Saturday.
